Tell a story with Shoppable Photos
Tell a story with Shoppable Photos
Shoppable Photos are just what they sound like: your images, displayed on your Storefront, with tagged links to Amazon product detail pages. Shoppable Photos are a tool to tell your stories and share your tips with your audience through lifestyle visuals and captions.
This Shoppable Photo evokes positive emotions — happiness, confidence, and a strong sense of self. The Shoppable Photo is of high quality, the main subject stands out, and the lush background complements the look. The caption goes beyond simply describing a product as the influencer tells a relatable story and shared a styling tip to boot. Adding relevant hashtags like #partyoutfit #nightout (as seen in the example) is encouraged.
Make sure your Shoppable Photo is visually appealing and has a caption that drives your story home.
What makes a great Shoppable Photo?
We suggest these best practices for your Shoppable Photos:
- Create aspirational, original lifestyle photos showing off your featured products, including captions that share the stories behind them. Consider writing relevant hashtags in your captions.
- Use high-resolution, in focus imagery. Photos should be at least 800×800 pixels at 72 DPI. Set the scene of your image with a focal point, ensuring the featured products stand out. Avoid chaotic backgrounds.
- Set the stage. Use photos that showcase items in a realistic setting. For example, tag your new throw pillows on the couch in a photo of your living room. Or, tag your new Dutch oven on the hob as you prep to make dinner. This helps customers envision how items fit into their daily lives.
- Tag products in your photo. Tag up to 15 products that are relevant to your photo. The products you tag should be featured in the photo. In some categories, where your photo shares an aesthetic as much as specific products, like fashion or home, tagging similar products to the ones in your photo may be helpful for your audience.
- Avoid uploading duplicate photos or images with text overlays, watermarks, trademarks, filters or app icons. Please also refrain from mentioning prices or sales and deals as they are subject to change.
- Do not use wording like “dupe,” “fake,” or “faux” or any similar connotation in connection with a brand. Do not knowingly promote counterfeit products or products that infringe the intellectual property rights of others (e.g. you may describe something as a “faux snakeskin” bag or “fake fur coat,” but you may not promote the sale of a “fake Goodthreads shirt” or “Goodthreads purse dupe” if the item is not produced by Goodthreads). Get creative with your captions:
- Tell a story or describe a moment. Talk to your audience and build a connection through captions that go beyond the usual product description or review. Be funny, creative, witty or inspiring and consider adding hashtags — make your authentic personality shine! Tell us how your favourite 5-inch heels give your confidence that much needed lift or how this piece of furniture reminds you of your childhood.
