How to earn using Affiliate Links
How to earn using Affiliate Links
Earn commissions when your followers make qualifying purchases from your Amazon Storefront and favourite products you share on social media.
Here’s how Allie P. Hunter does it.
Allie P. Hunter knows that her followers visit her channels every day for product recommendations and deals. That’s why she makes it simple to find her favourites.
The link in her Instagram bio goes directly to her Amazon Storefront so followers can shop her picks.
In her Stories, she posts photos of herself wearing or using products and includes information like sizing and pricing to help followers purchase. Her Stories also link either to shoppable photos on Storefronts or directly to a product page, so they’re easy to find and easy to click.
When her followers use these links, Allie makes a commission on their qualifying purchases.
3 linking strategies to engage audiences
1. Link directly to the products in your content.
This makes it easy for your followers to find the products you’re posting about. Share in your Instagram Stories, YouTube video descriptions, and more. Be sure to use Amazon’s linking tools like SiteStripe and mobile Get Link to create affiliate links for individual products.
2. Post your Storefront link in your bio.
Give your followers easy access to all of your Amazon picks by adding a link to your Storefront directly in your bio. You can also add your Storefront as a prominent link in whichever “link in bio” tool you use, such as Linktree.
3. Share links to your Shoppable photos and Idea Lists.
Have multiple products you want to link at once? Upload a photo of the products to your Storefront, then share the link to your Shoppable photo to give your followers easy access to all of the product links in one place. Or, create an Idea List on your Storefront and share the link with your followers.
Get started with sharing links
When driving to your content on Amazon, such as Idea Lists, Shoppable photos, always use the link directly from your Storefront, which by default enables affiliate attribution. Do not use links from anywhere other than your Storefront. When driving to a specific product page, use our linking tools such as SiteStripe on desktop or GetLink on mobile, in order to receive affiliate attribution.
1. Share your Storefront page.
Click the Share icon at the top right of your Storefront. Click copy, then paste it into where you’re sharing on social.
2. Share your Shoppable photos.
Once you’ve uploaded Shoppable photos and videos to your Storefront, click into the post and tap the Share icon. Click copy, then paste it into where you’re sharing on social.
3. Share an individual product link on mobile.
Using Amazon’s Mobile GetLink tool, you can create an affiliate link from your mobile device to share to social — just make sure you’re logged into the Amazon app with your influencer credentials. To use Mobile GetLink, learn more here.
4. Share an individual product link from your desktop.
Using Amazon’s SiteStripe tool, you can create links to specific products right on the Amazon website. To use SiteStripe, learn more here.
FAQs
Are commissionable links available to all creators?
Yes!
How can I earn from linking?
To get a commission from these links, you will need to either share them directly from your Storefront page or use Amazon’s linking tools, Mobile GetLink or SiteStripe. When customers use these links to make a qualifying purchase, you make a commission. You will also earn commission on all of the purchases your followers make within 24 hours of clicking on your link, even when the products they buy are not on your Storefront.
What items qualify for commission income and how are the commissions calculated?
Influencers earn commission income when visitors follow links from their sites to Amazon.co.uk, make a purchase, and the item is dispatched. These links can be to individual products, pages of search results, the Amazon.co.uk home page, or any other page at Amazon.co.uk. Influencers can also place product search boxes on their sites. Please note that commission income is calculated on the sale price, not the list price, of each qualifying item. You earn commission income according to the payment plans following this link: Affiliate Programme Commission Income Schedule.
Does linking work on all devices?
Yes! You can share links from either mobile or desktop. To share individual product links from mobile, use Mobile GetLink. To share individual links from your desktop, use SiteStripe.
I have multiple links I want to share, but Instagram only allows for one. What should I do?
Many influencers want to promote multiple links, such as their Amazon storefront, a blog, website, or other affiliate links. We’d recommend using a link tool such as Linktree that allows you to house all of your links in one place and makes it easy for your followers to find what they’re looking for.
